Lake Skjeklesjøen in Rakkestad Municipality is connected to Lake Greåkersjøen. It is also possible to take your boat directly to Lake Elnessjøen at high water levels. Skjeklesjøen is an idyllic lake surrounded by both forests and agricultural landscapes.

As much of the lake’s precipitation area consists of forest, the water is relatively affected by humus runoff and as such is rather dark. Lake Skjeklesjøen is a rather shallow lake with a greatest depth of just over 5 metres.

About the fishing
Lake Skjeklesjøen has a good stock of pike, perch, bream and roach. Pike fishing here is excellent and every year some individuals exceeding one metre in length are caught in the lake. The same is true of perch with many possibilities for big catches of large perch. For the most part pike fishing is spin-fishing using wobblers, large spinners or large jigs. The lake also provides good opportunities for catching large pike using either coarse fishing or fly-fishing. Perch fishing is most often best with jigs or floats using dead baitfish, as well as for ice-fishing methods.
All year. Pike is best after spawning in spring and when the temperature sink during the autumn. Perch fishing can be good in the winter, as well as over the rest of the year.
Nice catches
Pike exceeding 10 kg have been caught several times. Large perch are also known, including some individuals over 1.5 kg.
Boat ramp
There are no Boat ramps in the lake, but a boat can be rented if you stay at the Oddland cabin.
Fishing regulation
All pike exceeding 80 cm should be released. You can only keep two pike under 80 cm per day.
Fishing permit
Fishing licence for the area is sold by the Søndre Degernes Grunneierlag (FVO). The licence covers 10 lakes and is sold both in self-service machines and directly by the FVO.
