Stora Bör is the largest lake in Stora Bör' s fishing area. The lake is close to the the E18, but still has a fabulous "wilderness character". Around Stora Bör you find a total of about 25 larger and smaller lakes belonging to the same fishing area !

Stora Bör is a clear water lake with a distinct wilderness character and several interesting species for anglers. A canoe route goes through the lake system via Älgsjön - Lilla Bör and Stora Bör. The lake is located half in both the municipalities of Årjäng and Säffle . Several nice rivers and waterways connect the lakes in the area, and there is also a good amount of trout in the lake system. And besides trout, there are many perch, pike, burbot, bleak, whitefish, vendace, roach, eel and crayfish. The beautiful lake system contains many islands and beautiful bays.

It's really good fishing for pike and perch in Stora Bör, and there is also a big trout plant. The area is really stunning, with over 80 islands and islets in the lake. Fishing for pike and perch are the best, but if you have some patience and fish at the right times, you can also expect great (planted) trout !

Sesong

The whole year round. Please respect closed seasons for some species and locations.

Spesielle fangster

One of the largest pike caught in the areas weighed 17 kg! Also known there has been caught big perch up to 2 kg, and trout over 5 kg.

Båtramper

There are three boat ramps around Stora Bör. At Norviken on the east side of the lake, At Ersta on the western side, and one to the far south of the dam.

Fiskeregler

For fishing in Stora Bör you must have a valid fishing license. Exceptions are young people under 16, they are allowed to fish freely but the same fishing rules apply. Fishing in the streams wich flow into the fishery conservation area, are forbidden. Fishing for crayfish is prohibited and is not included in the license. The Fishing license gives the right to fish with hand-tackle (fishing rod, spinning rod, fly rod and jig rod) . Trolling is only allowed with max. 2 baits.
